The Challenge
GMACK were employed to carry out refurbishment works to the champagne lounge, main restaurant and other alterations within the bar area. The Client’s key requirements were to have the work carried out within as short a time period as possible to minimise loss of income and maximise impact at reopening. Appointed at an early stage whilst design was still being developed, GMACK were tasked to provide accurate cost planning and programming advice.
The Solution
We identified the need to mitigate risk to the programme by: –
Progressing the Champagne Lounge works in advance of the main restaurant whilst trading was maintained.
Ensuring off site manufacture was completed well in advance of works on site.
Close management of the works during the closure period allowing us to respond to the Client’s ongoing refinement of final design.
Team approach to delivery with all trades ignoring their normal work boundaries to ensure overall delivery.
The Result
The works were completed within the agreed 12 day period whilst the restaurant maintained trading during the first week and weekend (no weekend trade lost).
