The Challenge
During the COVID-19 global pandemic and in very difficult and challenging circumstances, including working entirely remotely from all members of the Client, GMACK were appointed to deliver the fit out of Timothy Oulton’s flagship Scottish store in Princes Square, Glasgow.
Through recommendation GMACK were Employed to provide an All-Round Solution which included everything from obtaining Listed Building Consent and Building Warrant to issue of design information, completion of the fit out and installation of product.
As a result of the remoteness of the Client and the complexities of their merchandise, GMACK would again have to rise to the occasion to deliver such a project under unprecedented modern times.
The Solution
Taking full ownership of the pre-construction stage, GMACK employed the services of a Professional Consultants to assist in obtaining the necessary consents, statutory approvals and design work. Communicating the key objectives and timescales to all stakeholders allowed GMACK to provide the Client and design team with a broader understanding of the project creating a clear pathway for successful delivery.
With a global presence, and trusting GMACK from afar, the Client was kept appraised of progress via regular online conference calls which provided a visual update of the works regardless of the Client’s location, Mexico City, California, Hong Kong, San Francisco, or a bit closer to home, London. Throughout the course of the project, GMACK management team had to adapt to ensure they were available to update the client no matter the difference in time zones.
Resourcing the project in the correct manner ensured that GMACK complied fully with Landlord / Centre Management strict requirements for working within a live environment.
The final part of the solution involved co-ordinating, distributing and installing the many specialist pieces of furniture and valuable product.
