Mr Stuart Johnston – Client
The Challenge
GMACK were initially approached by a private client to provide costs to construct a secure and weatherproof temporary enclosure whilst carrying out structural and joinery works to their home as part of a conversion to provide a large dining kitchen with bi-folding door into the rear garden. We quickly identified the need for a co-ordinated approach with the Client’s other direct contractors for kitchen installation, bi-fold doors, plumbing, electrical works and decoration and insisted that all were brought together.
The Solution
GMACK had taken the lead and adopted role of Main Contractor and Lead Designer to ensure that the works were being planned and progressed in the best interest of the Client: –
Ensuring that critical procurement milestones for site sizing bi-fold doors and kitchen were achieved.
Pro-active interrogation of the design of the various elements to mitigate clashes and ensure that the Client’s final expectations were being achieved.
Introducing further subcontractors direct to the Client where the need arose during the progress of the works.
The Result
GMACK successfully completed the works within the agreed programme whilst co-ordinating and incorporating much of the first fix works of other direct contractors. The Client subsequently employed GMACK to install substantial area of raised decking outside the new bi-fold doors.
